Mace is a spice prepared from the covering of nutmeg seed in a reddish color. The flavor seems to be same as that of the nutmeg seed. The main use of mace is seen in meat, baked goods, fish, picking, and vegetables. While processing mace, the red crimson color of the same is removed and flattened out to dry. Also, the dry mace consists of some flat pieces in the form of smooth, brittle, and horny. There are some disadvantages related if the spice is used in excess.
