Turmeric is planted from the family of Curcuma Longa. It is known as ‘Haldi’ in Hindi. The rhizomes of turmeric are boiled in water and left for dry. It becomes a deep orange-yellow powder commonly used for flavoring and coloring in cuisines. From the use of Ayurveda, it is known as hardia. In many Asian dishes, turmeric is a key ingredient spice which adds color to the food. Even, milk mixed with turmeric is used for a variety of solutions.
